ARJUNA :- A KATTAR BHAKTA OF SHRI MAHADEVA

Arjuna was one of the greatest devotees of Mahadeva Shiva ever born on earth. Although it is not written clearly in Mahabharata but if we deeply observe the entire Mahabharata and read the story of Nara and Narayana then it can be clearly concluded which I said above. Let's see some narratives from Mahabharata which talks about Arjuna to be a devotee of Mahadeva Shiva.

1) Arjuna practised terrible austerities to please Mahadeva Shiva to get Pashupata weapon and all other weapons from all the gods

Vana Parva, Chapter No.40, Mahabharata CE by BORI, Dr. Bibek Debroy translation

The great-souled Arjuna then engaged in terrible austerities in a beautiful region of that beautiful forest. He clad himself in darbha grass, bark and deerskin and carried a staff. In the first month, he ate fruits once every period of three nights was over. In the second month, it
was for double the period. In the third month, he ate once every fortnight, surviving on decayed leaves that fell down on the ground. When the fourth moon arrived and the moon was full, the mighty-armed son of Pandu survived only on air. He raised his arms up, and without anything for support, stood on the tips of his toes

2) Arjuna again worshipped and satisfied Lord Mahadeva

Drona Parva, Chapter No. 57, Mahabharata CE by BORI, Dr. Bibek Debroy translation

Arjuna satisfied Sharva with a hymn.......Partha
was delighted and worshipped the one with the bull on his banner.

3) Mahadeva Shiva used to care/favour Arjuna so much that he once fought for Arjuna on 15th day, although Arjuna hadn't invoked him in that battle to get his support.

Drona Parva, Chapter No. 173, Mahabharata CE by BORI, Dr. Bibek Debroy translation

O Partha! In that fierce battle, when the body hair stood up, it is he who preceded you through his favours.

4) Arjuna worshipped Mahadeva on 16th day of Kuru war

Karna Parva, Chapter No.21, Mahabharata CE by BORI, Dr. Bibek Debroy translation

“The best of men, Arjuna and Keshava, performed their religious ceremonies and worshipped Lord Bhava in accordance with the proper rites. They set their minds on killing the enemy and swiftly rushed against your army. The chariot roared like a cloud and the flags and standard fluttered in the wind. It was drawn by white horses.
