CHARACTER TRAITS OF ARJUNA AND OTHERS

In Yudhisthira, we find charity, peace and self-control,

leaning towards weakness and ineptitude; in Duryodhana,

determination combined with envy, hate, cruelty and un- .

scrupulousness; in Bhima recklessness and wild impetuosity;

m Arjuna dignity, chivalry and prudent heroism; in Karna pride, arrogance and malignity, with a strange streak of gene¬

rosity ; in Dhritrastra pernicious weakness and complaisance ;

in Sakuni and DuhSasana unmitigated wickedness and audacity ;in Vidura and Drona sense of justice and loyalty; in Bhismanobility, benevolence, asceticism and detachment; in Draupadigracious womanhood, staunch loyalty and purity of character.

According to Prof. V.S Sukthankar, the general editor of BORI CE the character traits of Arjuna, Yudhishthira,Bhima, Duryodhana,Karna, Dhrirashtra, Shakuni, Dussasana, Vidura,Drona, Bhishma and Draupadi are as follows :- 

1). Pandavas And Their Supporters :- 

Arjuna :- Dignity, chivalry and prudent heroism ( Basically a completely white heroic protagonist )

Yudhishthira :- Charity, peace, self-control turning into weakness and ineptitude ( Extremely generous which can be used as a weakness by wretches )

Bhima :- Recklessness and wild impetuousity ( Ruthless because of getting cheated by cousins ) 

Draupadi :- Gracious womanhood, staunch loyalty and purity of character ( Basically a complete white heroine )

Vidura and Drona :- Sense of justice and loyalty ( Neutrality while judging people e.g praising Pandavas, Draupadi and Lord Krishna, blaming Kauravas and Karna )

Bhishma :- Nobility, benevolence, asceticism and detachment ( Another complete white character )

2. Kauravas And Their Supporters :- 

Duryodhana :- Determination combined with envy, hate, cruelty and unscrupulousness ( Basically a completely black villainous antagonist )

Dhrirashtra :- Pernicious weakness and complaisance ( Weakness to surrender to evil son )

Shakuni and Dussasana :- Unmitigated wickedness and audacity ( Another completely black villainous antagonists ) 

Karna :- Pride, arrogance and malignity, with a strange streak of generousity ( A wicked villain saved from turning into completely black antagonist ) 

Hence, according to Late Prof. V.S Sukthankar, Arjuna is a much better person than Karna because Arjuna has only good qualities but Karna possessed negative traits
